Committee Meeting

There will be a Committee Meeting in the site cabin on Sunday 5th September at 12 noon. All members are welcome to come along, exchange views and share their concerns. This is an opportunity for members to put forward their ideas and suggest improvements, and take an active part in running the Association. We look forward to seeing you on Sunday.

Growers Market

Hi Folks, Would you be interested in participating in this event, and trading your surpluses?  It could be a very interesting day out.   A minimum of 4 plotholders would suffice (but more would be better).  Contact us on the guestbook, go to the bottom of the page to "comments" and leave us your contact details, your interest in attending, and your surpluses,  We will not print your private details (just the basics, like "I am Simon, I have masses of courgettes") but pass them on to other interested plotholders.   Regards, Joan.

Are you interested in Bee Keeping?

Picture
The Government are promoting bee keeping courses throughout the country, due to the serious decline of this valuable insect.  Allotments are a perfect habitat, especially ones like ours (that are a bit untidy – but have lots of native wild species that you don’t see in manicured or lawned gardens, or manicured allotment sites).

We will be developing a wildlife area, with pond, on an abandoned plot at the back of the site.  It will be fenced and gated.  There will be room for possibly up to three hives.  All we need are bee keepers.  One of plotholders, Anne, has already applied.

Here is the email I received from Ken Wilson on 24th August.
